Helping Captain Planet Empower the Next Generation

May 2019 - Austell, GA – Gifford Pace – FSI recently began helping Captain Planet Foundation with their mission to empower the next generation to create a community of solutions for the planet.  For almost 30 years, their programs have been helping youth embrace and strengthen their power to create positive change in their schools, communities, and the natural world.

FSI helps them achieve this by assembling and shipping various kits to youth through their schools.  One of the kits (Project Learning Garden) is focused on creating a sustainable garden program by helping schools establish outdoor learning laboratories.  Books, lessons and activities are included to help the student get their hands dirty with some great knowledge.  For the educator who wants to dig deeper into the lessons and learn garden-based teaching strategies, CPF provides online training opportunities.  To top it off, a fully equipped mobile cooking cart and recipes are provided to allow easy preparation of produce from gardens.
