Progress is Being Made

Austell, GA, Feb. 14, 2020 - FSI continues to make progress on the new facilities at 875 Douglas Hill Rd, Lithia Springs, GA 30122.  During one of the many site visits, Ken and Forrest Marbutt took the opportunity to take a selfie.  “This building and our growth are the result of the hard work and dedication of our employees.” states Forrest.  Ken quickly added, “Yes, and we’re very fortunate to have good people doing great work.  This building is a representation of that effort and is going to be rewarding for them and our customers.”

One way we are optimizing the warehouse space is the installation of new racking laid out by industrial engineers, which is one of the crucial functions to the success of a warehouse.  FSI’s project is no exception.  Chuck Slappey, Director of Operations, states “It’s one of the largest projects we’ve taken on.  With the help of our partners, it’s coming along great.  Given our 36’ ceilings, we got a lot of storage space for not only our current clients, but also future ones.“

While the warehouse is the vast amount of the 486k ft2 space, the front offices are also being finished out for FSI’s headquarters.  Tammy Hitchcock, Senior Customer Service Representative comments about the move.  “Being in a new building and offices brings new excitement and makes servicing our clients even easier,” says Tammy.  Ericka Shipp likes the space because it gives her even more room for kitting, subscription programs, and light assembly projects. “Our current kitting production area is good, but the new facility has better accessibly to the warehouse and enhances our ability to get product to the area faster and more efficiently.”

One of the common questions about the new space is “How are you going to get around?”  Walking is still a viable option.  However, we have purchased golf carts that will be used for facility tours and when needed by team members.  And yes, we’ve even purchased some bicycles for the adventurous souls.  Not sure if helmets will be required though.  “Helmet or not, I’m going for the golf cart.  No telling what would happen if I got on a bike.” says Gifford Pace, Business Development Consultant.
