Gavin Eng Retires  

Lithia Springs – 5/13/22 – Forrest Marbutt – In FSI’s 26 year history, we’ve had the pleasure several times of being where an employee chose to finish out their career before riding off into the retirement sunset.  This was the case recently with Gavin Eng, one of FSI’s warehouse supervisors.  Gavin has been with FSI for the last 5 years.

At the time FSI hired Gavin, we were getting what has turned out to be our 2^nd largest account off the ground.  With FSI being a 3PL, most employees work on pick/pack/ship orders for multiple accounts throughout the day.  This account is so big, it requires a dedicated crew that primarily handles only their orders.  Gavin was hired specifically to manage the crew for this account, and he did an outstanding job.  We can’t say enough good things about how well he has done.  Well respected, even keeled, fair, compassionate, understanding…the kind of supervisor other employees want to go the extra mile for. 

Gavin is a huge sports fan, and during his last few weeks, he wore a different numbered jersey each day representing the number of days he had left until retirement.   

Gavin is an easy-going guy who chose Chick-fil-A as his retirement meal of choice.

We made sure we got in 1 more game of cornhole with Gavin.  Gavin is already pretty good as it is and can be quite the challenge on any given day.  But with more time on his hands these days, it will be interesting to see how well he does when he comes back to visit.

Gavin will truly be missed, and he has been very professional about everything along the way by giving us plenty of advance notice of his retirement plans and making sure a replacement supervisor was trained and ready to fill his shoes.  We consider ourselves blessed to have been able to enjoy Gavin’s last 5 years of his working life with him.  He is one of the most respected members of management we’ve ever had, and we miss him already.
