And the Annual Award for Continuous Improvement goes to…

Lithia Springs, GA – 5/12/23 - Forrest Marbutt - FSI is always looking for ways to improve on what we’re already doing, and we have a continuous improvement program in place called “Ideas for Cash” where we reward our employees for coming up with great ideas. We award employees quarterly and then annually with money, days off, prizes, trophies, recognition, etc. 

Our most recent Idea of the Year recipient was one of our order pickers, Anthony Johnson (AJ). He recognized that FSI could be doing something better with our leftover corrugated boxes, so he had the idea for FSI to install a cardboard bailing machine. We ran the numbers and quickly realized that AJ was right. We estimated that FSI could save approximately $ 75,000 – 100,000 per year.

The bailer is proving to be a success already. Great observation, AJ! Keep up the great work, and keep those ideas coming.
