Since opening our doors in 1996, FSI has remained laser focused on delivering what’s important to our clients. That starts with world-class accuracy every day, from the thousands of pick/pack/ship orders to the mammoth kit-pack projects we handle for some of the biggest brands in America. And beyond accuracy, what our clients really need is reliability. They need a 3PL that can roll with the punches and pivot quickly when the unexpected happens. That’s why for over 29 years now, our clients keep us as their fulfillment partner because we continue to prove that FSI delivers. Bottom line, we remain focused on what’s most important to our clients.
But we also never forget what’s important to our community.
FSI has been blessed over the years, and our team has been honored to participate in countless community events. So FSI continued our long tradition of giving back, this time gathering at the Gas South Convention Center with friends and family to pack meals for the hungry. We pick, pack, and ship for a living, so why not put our expertise to work for a global cause?
Since FSI is constantly fine-tuning our own processes, we paid close attention to how well the food-packing process went. It was an official event by the Feed My Starving Children organization, which since their founding in 1987 has distributed more than 4 billion meals, and we appreciated the efficiency of the process. There were a large number of stations crewed by teams of 7-8 volunteers measuring dry ingredients, pouring them into bags, weighing and heat-sealing the bags, packing the finished product into boxes, and finally stacking them on pallets.
The FSI team was part of a larger group that packed the equivalent of 62,208 meals in a 2-hour packing session. And over the course of the week, many similar crews from all backgrounds joined together to collectively pack a whopping one million meals which will be distributed to hungry children around the world. To translate these efforts into human terms, 2,376 children will receive life-sustaining meals for an entire year. That’s something we can all be proud of.
We look forward to our next chance to give back, and we look forward to handling your next fulfillment project!
